9-year-old half-Filipino half-Swedish Micah Pettersson told his Filipina mother Bethel he wanted to send money to the children who are victims of super typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines

Micah collected all the coins he got from doing special chores at home or gifts from relatives in a ‘spargris’ or piggybank.

Upon hearing of the devastation the typhoon left on the news, Micah was moved and volunteered to send some to the children who survived but are in desperate need for help. His Swedish dad Ola immediately facilitated the sending transaction through recognized relief operations online.

The second-grader and his 6-year-old brother Joshua have also been sponsoring less fortunate children in the country regularly for a few years now using their ‘spargris’ money.
